Dr. Lawrence Sanchez and Dr. Carol Lang, Our medical directors are highly educated in geriatric care and hospice care & quickly/efficiently respond to the needs of our hospice patients. Our Hospice medical directors are physician leaders who transform the medical and clinical operations of our hospice program, including certifying patient eligibility for hospice care, guiding the interdisciplinary team in developing and overseeing care plans, quality improvement, and some direct patient care, including face-to-face visits and symptom management consultation. A patient’s primary provider may continue to provide medical care for the patient should the patient so desire. When the patient’s primary physician remains involved, the medical director serves in an advisory/consultative role to the primary physician.
